Wildlife introduces an exciting and interactive element to Wordscapes. With this feature, you can collect and care for a variety of animals by hatching Wildlife Eggs.

Each Wildlife animal has their own unique set of stats, bonuses, and rarities. The rarity of each animal can be a good indicator of how much of the bonus it rewards but also how difficult it is to obtain.

Overall, the best animals in Wordscapes are the Anteater, African Elephant, Quetzal, and Lion. Three of which, can offer up to 600 Heart Gems per activity when leveled up.

One thing to note, however, is that the best animal to use can also be dependent on what type of bonus you want more of. If you don't care for collectibles but like hints in levels, the Anteater is a good option since it rewards bees.

On the contrary, if you care more about tournaments and less about collecting animals, the Lion would be best to use since it rewards Tournament Stars with slightly fewer Heart Gems compared to the other top 3.

What Does Each Bonus Do?

Wordscapes Wildlife bonuses all have a unique way to either boost your score, help you through levels, or unlock new collectibles. Below is a list of each bonus you can earn and what they are for:

Heart Gems

Heart Gems are used to unlock Wildlife animals. They can be earned by completing Wildlife activities or playing levels. Then, you can spend them on Eggs to obtain a new animal or duplicate animal to level it up.

Spelling Bees

Spelling Bees help you with levels by revealing the first letter of a word in the crossword. Plus, they leave a trail of coins to follow as an added bonus.

Brilliance

Brilliance is your accumulated score for the whole game. You can view it to see how high you are on the leaderboards or how you compare with friends.

Tournament Stars

Tournament Stars are used as your score for the weekly Star Tournament. You can earn them by finding words in the levels. At the end of the tournament, the number of stars you have will put you on the leaderboard to earn rewards based on your placement.

Binoculars

Binoculars are used to unlock collectible portraits for your profile images. They are placed in word slots for you to collect when finding the word.

Cocoons

Cocoons are used to unlock butterflies for your collection. When playing, cocoons will be placed on the crossword for you to obtain.

How Do I Collect the Animals?

To collect Wordscapes animals, you need to unlock Wildlife Eggs. These can be unlocked with Heart Gems you get by completing levels and doing Wildlife activities. There are currently six different types of Eggs in Wordscapes which offer a unique set of animals to be found.

The regular eggs cost 850 Heart Gems and the shiny eggs cost 550 Heart Gems. Based on the animal's rarity, you have a set percentage of chance to earn it from the egg. Common is a 56% chance, Uncommon is 30%, Rare is 12%, and Epic is 2%.

If you end up collecting a duplicate animal, it goes towards leveling up the animal to increase its rewards. In the list of animals above, you can see what Eggs they come from and how much the rewards increase at each level.
